How you deal with resistance determines the outcome of your character. Kevin offered himself up as the perfect study of the internal struggle. That struggle made it onto his canvases and was externalized and then examined. I kept coming back to the mirror and to the obstruction, the division and splintering. The rooster is bold: a knight, the rooster is valor and courage, on tiger back. That is one part of Kevin, the do right part. Then there is the abstraction as he calls it, creeping in, closing in, engulfing all the surroundings. It is form and anti form, matter and anti-matter, it is the struggle everyone faces but sometimes fails to admit. Still, it is almost impossible, almost irrelevant to plunge into the meaning(s) behind anothers' abstraction.
